Getting out of school in 2 weeks. Any info from current drivers would be appreciated. What does orientation and training consist of. Training pay? Starting pay for students. I am looking to run out of syracuse. Do they run elogs. Good equipment? Average length of haul? Thanks

Never worked for them myself, but they are based not far from my company..

    -equiptment is average at best
    -a lot of northeast regional
-they advertise all the time for drivers (high turnover)

Call them for pay, training, benefits, etc..

IMO there are better choices but to get some experience you have to do what you have to do..

Bob looks out for his drivers, I'm told. I talked to one driver that runs mainly NYC - he's happy to gross $1k/week. Others gross less. Their yard is full on the weekends, so I suppose most drivers are off on weekends.

edit: This is for the Scranton location.

No matter where you end up, you can always find something better if you keep looking. Just figure out what's important to you and then find a company that gives you those things. $150 / week sounds very low though. There are a lot of local outfits in your area to choose from, but I don't know how many of them will take a driver with zero experience.

Not really looking to be local. Looking for regional work. 2 places that have reached out to me but do completly different things. 1 flat bed 1 dry van. Both terminals are just a few miles from my house.

Bolus has some pretty ratty looking equipment, idk... they are still in business though, so the place has work and it is what you make of it type deal.

You'll find there's a trade off between pay and equipment. New equipment means smaller paychecks. Older equipment means larger paychecks. In most cases; there are always exceptions.

    demi and chandler14 Thank this.

With today's CSA, I'd take good equipment for a little less pay than potential violations for a larger paycheck.
