Best solution is to take the radiator cap off and drive a Western Star or kenworth under it.

 

My thoughts would not interfere with any of that..Basically it would be in same position as mirror but in the back along side the flairing...

What ever tree you hit with mirrors would be the same with rear cab mount idea..
I also think that if your trailer hits ant thats along side the flairing,your flairing is goneto....

Do this to see what i mean..

Stand on drivers side rear step nehind cab..On the outside of the cab you extend your arm as if you were reaching for the mirror..Now at elbow length you make a 90 deg bend and thats where ant will mount..It should be about same height as it would have been on older mirror mounted ant..

 

I changed the coax in mine to the Wilson cable with a ground. Used a 5 foot firestick top loaded and it worked perfectly. Several guys run the behind the cab setup and it worked perfectly also.

 

If the ant stays behind the cab and you tow a dry box,to much reflection...Its like an ant in a bucket...Its basically only gonna get out directly straight up and a lil out the sides where the space between cab n trl..

 

I use the Wilson mirror bracket with 18 ft of coax and a Predator 10K with a 27 inch shaft which i bought at Whizs cb shop in Waterloo IA, across the street from the Tyson plant. SWR is 1.2 across the band and i once talked to a base station in Plant City FL from Zephyrhills FL about 15 miles away with my Galaxy 99v2.

 

Wolverine...If you got the duel coil type,keep an eye on it ...The extra coil holds back alot of wind and may break your lower shaft..If you have single coil you should be good..Just dont do the super trucker bull horn look and aim it past 15-30 degrees of angle..All that does is fool your radio into thinkin all is good and your signal ends up in the ground pissin off the worms....
You say you got a 1.2 across the board..Did you rf ground it any and i hope your not depending on the radio's meter for that 1.2 reading..

 

I added a ground strap from the battery to the truck frame on the left side and than from the frame on the right side to truck cab and also from the cab to the right side door. on top of the right door you will find 2 bolts or bolt hole's for a mirror. i made a stainless steel antenna bracket bolted it to those hole's and hooked my antenna on it with 18 foot of cb cable . I am running a perfect one to one match on my radio and getting out any where from 7 to 10 miles depending on weather and my location . city or open country . ( cobra 29 classic pure stock never been peeked out ) maybe some of you other driver's should look in to trying the same thing . be sure to use stainless steel for the bracket and don't forget to add the ground straps

 

A 7 foot antenna will work much better on a cascadia considering how low the antenna mounts. Mine is 81 inches long and the top of the whip is exactly 13'6" off the ground.
It works the same on a Kenworth t600

 

Raising the mount requires a shorter less efficient antenna with greater ground losses. Mounting a longer more efficient antenna lower closer to RF ground would work much better
