If it helps figure out the issue, it's a 2015 d13 shift.

Recently, my driver had an issue starting the truck while out, had service come out diagnose the issue being the starter. Starter changed, truck fired right up. Truck only has 120k miles, not sure if it's early for a starter to go out, possibly? Two weeks down the road, while cold starting after a day or so, our trucks starter began turning slowly but eventually firing up. We'll have it run a bit, shut it down and it fires back up like nothing ever happened. Volts read 13.9-14.1 while starting, checked the cables and connections, cleaned some, they seem fine. If the truck sits more than a day it turns noticeability longer before starting, but after running stopping and starting it fires right up. Why?

You might have a bad cell in one of your batteries that's dragging the voltage down when the truck is off.
I'd have the batteries pulled and load test them individually....Or if you disconnect the bus bar and leave it sit overnight, test the voltage on each battery and look for one much lower than the rest.

Hi, i suggest to you to check on the master switch (in battery box) if big stud comes hot during cranking, it's happen sometime, when the engine is cold the starter motor pull more amps and if the contact is bad at the master switch you will have a voltage drop problem who generate heat, voltage drop method is best to check it with a multimeter .
Note:for a quick test without tools your fingers can lead you close to the problem.

For a test i recommand you to turn Off the master switch for the week end on the 2015 truck and you will see if there is an improvement for the next time you will start.
