True or false?
Hmm....
False? -
sounds to me like a swith on the clutch might be adjusted wrong,,jake is either on or off also the jake runs on oil pressure so if the oil pressure is not constant it might deactivate the jake
-
Could also be a loose connection somewhere but some more truck info would be extremely helpful

Sometimes this board is like me being at my shop. Customer should realize that the more info that he gives me, the more helpful it will be when diagnosing and fixing the problem, thus taking less time ($$$) out of his pocket. Eventually I am going to find/fix the problem, but if I have to try and duplicate and verify every possible symptom on my own, it will take more time to do so. Just a thought (rant)!

Hi, about the engine brake problem when the problem occur check if the cruise control can work if not probably like someone told you earlier it's probably in the clutch pedal switch circuit , adjustement or switch itself.

Also, i forgot to told you the ABS module have the capability to turn OFF the engine brake without any warning, then for a quick test you can remove the Abs fuses and try it just for a short period of time.
