Cummins isx oil pan

As long as you don't mind the gallon difference, it should be fine if everything is a direct fit. Call the company and make sure that there will be no fitment issues.

 

Interesting. I wonder if maybe cummins makes a few different oil pans based on application and the aftermarket pan is designed to cover all of the applications and the oil capacity suffers. One thing you can do with both pans off is put a measured amount of liquid in each and see if there really is a capacity difference. I've never seen the bottom end of an ISX but you can also measure how much you can overfill a pan based on how low the crank and rods hang. The downside to less oil capacity is shorter life between oil changes with less oil volume to hold dirt.

 

With that kind of a decrease in volume, not only would I be worried about soot loading and change interval, but higher oil temps while running.

 

On the Cummins site, 10 is to the low mark, 12 is to the full mark on the dipstick. That is the oil change capacity that includes the oil filter.

I'd call them to make sure that is correct and ask if they include the gallon in the filter like Cummins does. If 9 is the minimum without the filter, then it'll be the same size as the Cummins one. The filter & filter head holds about a gallon.

 

Probably has the rear sump removed, I wouldn't be worried about it.
