EZ Pass Collection (how to proceed)

Pay the 54 bucks and move on......

Wrap it in foil or the transponder can still pick it up in a truck....The foil works..I have tried that!

 

If EZ pass charged off the debt and sent it to an outside collection agency, your credit is probably going to get dinged even if you pay it off. If EZ pass still owns the debt I'd call them and let them know what happened and try to negotiate full payment in exchange for keeping it off your credit report.


Stupid stuff like this can cost tens of thousands of dollars in higher interest rates when you go to buy or refinance a home, so you really need to be vigilant to protect your credit.

 

Pay directly to ezpass. Then call collector a week later and tell them it's paid.
Record clear.

 

Are you sure it's legit? I get EMails about once a month, that someone want's me to pay for "driving on a toll road." Total BS.

I have a personal IPass, for Illinois. When I had to send it back for an upgraded one, they said it needed to be wrapped in foil, so it wouldn't register while going through the mail.

 

I wouldn't trust anyone or anything sent thru email.

 

If it is a Texas EZ pass the license plate won't match your personal vehicle and should be clearly an error. Just call them and they will probably take care of it for no charge. They have always been very understanding with me. Sounds like the collection could be for something other than what you think it is.
