Big difference between RF and DC ground. RF and DC potential must be equal. Only then can you accurately measure swr with an analyzer.

Well, I was actually surprised. I did a radio check coming down the hill eastbound into Cheyenne, WY. I was at the 336 yardstick and I asked if anyone had a copy on me in Cheyenne. The guy who responded said he was actually just west of Laramie, having just passed 309 headed the other way. Lost him about a minute later. Clear day and I was moving. Don't know what I should expect, but that seems like conditions just right it was further than I should legally, especially since there was a small mountain between us. What's with these cats on 19 and 21 coming in from Rhode Island? Is that normal? I hear them like they are in the jump seat, but they cannot hear me at all.

Skip can do goofy things with your signal. They may be bouncing off different atmospheric conditions in their area while your signal isn't being bounced. Just because you can hear them doesn't mean they will hear you. Hearing them just gives you an idea of band conditions.

Most of the t680's that I've been in do well with new coax and a decent antenna (not factory crap)
