TA has been buying independents and converting them ... One on the 40 in AZ to a TA. One in Wells, NV to a Petro and in NM on the 10 the between Las Cruces and Gallup converted to a Petro ... also brand shiny new TA in IA on the 80 around mm190
The TA in Morris, IL doubled the size of their parking lot and the TA at Baldwin in FL is getting ready to expandOceanDan, Moosetek13 and HousTank Thank this. -
Come to think of it, I've got another.
Johnson's Corner, just north of Denver on I-25.
It is now a Petro.
I wonder if the Morris TA increased because a Pilot moved in next door? -
I'll still choose the TA in Morris.
RPlace has the BEST chicken pot pie!OceanDan Thanks this. -
TA Ann Arbor. L/u in Brighton yesterday. I know you seasoned drivers will tell me "never say never" but I'll never go to that customer again. Load was racks of some type from a freightliner customer in NC. First they are constructing a new dock. No signs. So I drove 42k in the box thru their construction on gravel, one lane in places dodging barrels. After stopping twice to ask workers finally got general directions to shipping/receiving. You will miss the office the first time because it's hidden. When you see a sign "drivers entrance" you'll get out and when you get near the door you'll see the much smaller sign "this is not shipping/receiving, that entrance is on west side between doors 11 and 12". I walked back to the locked door completely hidden and held the buzzer for five seconds as directed. Of course no one came. Repeat the five second hold. Door opened by a human who didn't say a word. Ahhhh a window. Door opener sits back on a chair filing the room full of boxes to be filed. Three humans behind window don't even make eye contact. I decided to remain silent to see how long these four humans would continue to ignore a driver. 12 minutes later the door siren sounds and mr paper filer gets up to allow another driver in. I started a conversation with him in louder than normal decibel regarding common courtesy. Forty minutes after entering I had a dock, with instructions to drive completely around the building and construction again due to no u turns in back of building. Three hours and 20 minutes after arrival the load a single fork truck driver loaded in 12 minutes, was unloaded.
In case anyone is curious, Eberspaecher is the company, in Brighton MI.
Acting dm wanted to know if I could make it to the Bush Beans p/u in time. Yes, he said roll. 63 miles into the 74 I was out they cancelled.
Stopped at Saginaw TA, passed on a triple stop Ford load thru Bawhston, then picked this load off the mac30. Heading from Ann Arbor to Waco Tx.HousTank Thanks this. -
Speaking of fueling. I was out long enough last month to make platinum at Loves. Got like 25k points and now unlimited showers and drink refills this month. Happy camper!!

I went in that Peelot one time last winter during their "grand opening". I was bobtail waiting on a Costco load doing my 10 with four other bobtails.
Woke up in the morning to find both my gladhands sliced off and my pigtail cut. Same thing happened to the other bobtails!!! Man, I was pissed! Went to the T/A next door for repairs. I'll never go to that Pilot again. -
I had to delete what I wrote at first because I thought you were talking about Johnson's Corner.
I've never had a problem at the TA in Morris, and I've also never visited the Pilot next to them.
From what you've said, I guess I'm glad I never ventured in there.
I like the TA in Morris, just for the chicken pot pies if nothing else.
Oh, and the strawberry pillows - puff pastry filled with strawberries and whipped cream. Yum!HousTank Thanks this. -
It started to rain here in Columbus, OH.
Well, thunder and lightning, rivers flowing in the parking lot...
