Seems like a handful of threads talking about Quality Carriers Owner-Operators and their affilates but I'm wondering if anyone here has ever worked or currently work there as a company union driver?
I live in Wisconsin and there is ALWAYS an add looking for quality drivers for over a year now...
It all sounds good but makes me wonder...
They can't find qualified drivers?
Drivers get hired and don't make their 90 day probation?
Drivers quit? etc...
I'm thinking about a change and any input would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hey JarHead- My best driving days were with a union oil co, before going OTR. Time and half after 8hrs and holidays. When you break down, just wait for mech. or another tractor. Was hauling 6 oil, 3 loads a day, one plant, 134 miles round trip. Only set back was other drivers. But thats another story. If I can remember, probation was 2 weeks. As long as the product kept moving you never had a problem. Mike

Thanks for the response MZ. I have it pretty good where I'm at but I am in and out of Chicago a couple times a day and I think it's taking its toll on me...I've never worked for a Union outfit before...I've heard good and bad stories about unions! I am just having cold feet about leaving somewhere and starting over! We'll see!
MZdanowicz Thanks this. -
Take it, decent money, good bennies.....when qc formed out of matlack and chemical leaman, it was cheaper to keep so many teamsters working under contract, rather than having to pay HUGE withdrawal liabilities on the union pension fund...
drward, MZdanowicz and 1833 Jar-head Thank this. -
One of the drivers I used to work with went as a union driver for QC out in Missouri. He has been there over a year and he still likes it.
