If C18 uses the same block, why not just go the whole way to 18L ?
That thing would be a pulling monster.....or you could de-rate it and still have the power of a 15 or 16L
converting c15 to c16

When the guy here that built a C-18 and put it in a tractor, he stated it was at over 1000hp and Kurt said that was on the low side for hp. Im just passing that on.

I thought some one was talking about factory built, there are C15s that are making 2000 in the sled pulling world, and the people that have pushed the 18s have bent connecting rods to show for it and have went back down in displacement.

Cody I remember a couple of years a go I was looking at the Cat marine ratings, since there's a bunch of them around here and there was a 1400 hp C18 acert, I told a friend that has one (1015hp)and he went and looked at it and he said he would get one, then couple of days later he told me to look for it again since he couldn't find it to show his dealer, and that was it, they removed it, also there's a few C12 705 hp around here and the C13 I think is already at or over 1000 hp but not so sure if is out yet or not.

I have a rating sheet for a 800hp C13 but it doesn't exist in the SIS system.
The TMI system cat has list most every HP rating for any engine, some say if they have been cancelled or not, 1150is the top one listed for the 18. There is one listing for a 900hp marine E but none of the part numbers work in SIS so 800hp is he top working number for an E and 865 for the marine C15, but there are C15 gen sets at 855hp.
The new C12.9 is another companies engine that cat has adopted as one of their own, it makes 1000hp.
