How is it that in this time of year that we have no freight in a hub like Denver?

Actually by forcing drivers to run tight loads they made millions in additional revenue . In May 2012 , my DM told me the serious accident rate had exceeded all of 2011. The average experience of the drivers involved in the crashes was 5.7 years . Frank

Dan you should have responded to the ECT that he has his head so far up his ### that his new Adam's Apple is actually his nose . He may have been trying to joke but I find those messages too ripe for incorrect and off center responses . Since I've only been scolded a few times a year I intend to continue misbehaving .

The next time you need an mty when you're near any terminal just go in and cherry pick the best one and call your DM to hook you to it and dispatch your next load . None of the office drone pukes own those trailers. Of course , if you meet one whose name is Transportation you might ask if his first name is Swift because he might actually own it .

Billings Montana. Drove 625 miles yesterday from Sidney, hoping this 0900 drop and 6 miles away would say "I'm totally ready to run all day." Woke up several times throughout the night to search for load offerings. Nothing.
DM says there are Worland loads tomorrow, just sit tight for 24 hours.
I've read what some of you mentioned about the soft freight. I was really hoping there would be something on a Friday to scoop up.

Broke down in Billings MT. Went into shipper at 3am in Colony WY to get a live load. P/U as given by Swift was 00:01-04:00. Shipper closed, open at 05:30. Appreciate starting my 14 for nothing AGAIN Mr CSR!! Upside was I was first in line and was loaded in 20 minutes.

As I'm moving around to the scale I noticed my jake light went off, my radio was cycling thru channels, trailer lights blinking etc etc. Seems my PornStars wire harness from the steering wheel to the coupling beneath it finally failed. Yanked the horn cover off and most of the wires from the first connector to the rotating connector under the steering were badly frayed or ripped out of the connector. The rotator was binding badly. Unplugged the connector to stop all the activity, but now have no jakes, horns, cruise control or anything else. The day is starting off well.

Finished scaling and rolled west on 212 while I waited on hold for onroad. 45 mins later they answered and we went through the motions. They wanted me to turn around and go back to Belle Fourche SD and wait. I said no, I'm not backtracking 70 miles to that hole in the wall. I'm continuing to Billings where there's an International dealer for this specialty part. My service brakes could handle the foothills through Cheyenne territory without jakes.

Get back with onroad when I got to the Peelot in Billings and find that International has to overnight the part and replace Saturday. No surprise there. So OnRoad sends me to Ryder for repair even though I told them it can not be repaired..needs the part, but what do I know. Ryder tears the steering down and tells onroad the truck needs the new part, can overnight it and replace Saturday. Swift resists and call me 3 hrs later and says I can drive it broke to SLC or Lewiston for repair. I had to watch my mouth when I told them no way I'm pulling 79K lbs through THOSE mountains with no jakes, not to mention failing a Level II DOT if I was inspected. I told them I'll bobtail and you can repower the load. She called me back and said they authorized Ryder to order the part and do the repair. It was the only logical outcome. Load will still be on time if they get finished by 4pm tomorrow.

Town pump across from the flying J...next to somebody blaring their stereo, and I keep telling the doggies to go back to sleep. I didn't know people needed theatre-level sound to watch movies. :^0 I can believe it, but the fact On road asked you to drive a massive load with no Jakes is insidious.

Oh, alrighty...I'm not sure if the freight fairy will be here early in the morning or not, so I'll check here to see what you're up to tomorrow.

Have a good night and hopefully you'll get a good can load from Crown and be rolling. I'm hoping to get fixed by lunch so I can get this Kitty litter to Portland for the desperate cats ;)
