Hubby was sent a message from his dm yesterday morning that they are 1000 loads short, so accept any offers that come across. So he did. And then read the details. So, tonight, instead of pulling dedicated sears, he is attached to a costco reefer. He was thrilled. (He hates the unfamiliar) I told him it was better than sitting.

Yesterday was west short 500 east short 1 for OTR. I'll have today's at about 6:30 Pacific. My DM starts each day with the bubble info. The past few days its been pathetic.

Buckner KY at ConAgra. Supposed to be a live/live 150 miler. I figured two hours to load, and then off to deliver. Ha.

I arrive to 5 swifties stacked up by shipping office. I went in, turned in my sheet, and was told, "oh wow, another truck for our special project, ok man, gimme your phone #, and go take a nap. We have no idea when you'll get a door."

So now I'm off duty in case it's 10 plus hours.

On the plus side, I'll be getting detention while I'm watching the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy.

So I just met a driver from Star a Transport in Illinois. He's pulling. Swift trailer, Swift loaned them money, they defaulted, and we bought them out. He was happy, because he got a raise.

He was under a load for Star, when his phone rang and it was someone from Phx who have him the option of working for swift or moving on somewhere else.

He said he's pleased with swift so far.

I hadn't heard that we had bought Star.

This has become my prefered way of getting an MT. So far has worked everywhere except Phoenix (where they keep gladhand locks on most of the MTs).

How well does that work at Memphis? I normally do that, but I had a class, and then my truck was in the shop on shop status, and had no Pplan until late at night. If I don't find any ill ask the t-call desk, and if they say they don't have any I do the whole deadhead all over the place routine for empties.

I'd like to be happy for him. How many new drivers did we just take on with this move by Swift? Loads have been sparse, so I can't imagine this will be good for us drivers sitting.
