I had an interview the other day, the company I applied for pays hourly and he said there really isn't overtime. Does that mean it's 40 hour weeks? Seems like it'll be super easy if that's the case as I'm used to working 60 plus hours in this industry
what is considered overtime in trucking

Nothing is overtime unless you are being paid by the hour. Then over 40 usually.

Folks above is clueless
Ask the employer details about Over Time. It varies company to company while being paid hourly. Nothing is streamlined driving a CMV.Last edited: Apr 11, 2015

I get ot after 8 and or 40
OT for most companies is after 40 hrs. I have seen co. that say OT after 45 hr and some say after 55 hrs.
OT after 8 is the way they all should beDerailed, MZdanowicz, Badcable and 2 others Thank this. -
Ask! It could be overtime after 40 hours in a week, holidays worked, night differential, or the best, OT after 8hrs worked in a day.
-
My guess is they just don't pay OT after 40. Not to many local trucking jobs work less than 60 hours a week.
