I would not buy Cascadia glider just because of stupid SAM modules.

ok people. It's hard for me to explain what is it and how it works. My English is limited. I am an US Citizen but I am not US born. I had no time to go to school for English. As a Christian I really want to help you to understand Sam modules and all related ***** ( BTW it's German engineering ). Please find attached this manual. It's interesting.

Scanned thru it briefly and got the gist of what SAM module is, but nothing about how that is a bad thing that you seem to think it is. Please elaborate why they are a problem. Since many folks don't seem to even know what they are, as evidenced by the questions here, then they must not be that big of a deal. I sure would like to know why they are a problem for my own curiosity.

I had twice within last year problems with Sam Chassis. if its burnt or something happened to software inside you can not just simply buy it or replace it. After replacing one of the Sam modules or master switch module only freightliner dealer can make it work(reprogramming needed). The replacement of Sam Chassis cost $1200-1400 at freightliner. I have seen many many trucks with problems related SAM's . Sam 6.0 or higher has less issues then early versions.. Any time when you need to change dash switches , sleeper bunk switches, a/c control components,....,....,... you need reprogramming(going to the dealer and paying them). If something happens to SAM Cab you will need tow truck because you can not start the truck. The truck goes flashing mode. you may have seen cascadias parked on shoulder with all marker lights flashing:) The system is full of bugs and freightliner still improving it..))) funny story- my friend dropped coffee on dash switches. the truck started showing fault codes. the repair bill was $2500 .
