I have been cleared and invited to join Oakley. But.... we simply don't have 15% - 20% down for a truck! I guess the good ole days of First Time Buyer is gone from what I understand.... forever from what they say. I'm trying to figure it out. We'll see.....

Have you checked with a freightliner selectrucks dealer? I got my first truck through them for $1,000 down.
-
Yup I sure did. They told me that it would be 10 percent down but for a first time buyer it might be more like 15% down. Go figure? What year did you buy the truck at Select Truck? 2008 and 2009 did a real number on the truck market.
-
My first truck was an 05, I bought it in 09. My current truck is a 2012 and financed it with zero down.

I'd call a different dealer.

I may do that. I'm about to say it's not the right time for this. It's very, very hard to save $10000 as a company driver above and beyond normal living expenses. Ya know?

My 1st truck was through my local bank. Used my pickup as collateral

OK...thanks!

Well... at this point, I'd like to thank all y'all for your help. However, even though I've qualified at 3 out of 3 places I've applied to, each wants at least 15% down. And I'm sorry...but I think everyone knows how hard it is to save $7500 to $12000 above and beyond your normal financial responsibilities. So, until such time ... that we can save that kind of money (if ever?!), I'm putting this whole thing on the back burner.
Again, thanks for everything!Mooseontheloose Thanks this.
