thanks. i started some study guide deal but stopped a few weeks ago. i just took one of the tests you recommended and got an 80 first try using only common sense

Watch youtube videos about tractor-trailer pre-trip inspections. This will be the most trying part of CDL school and final testing at the state DMV.
Best wishes on your new career.
Edit: Your first driving job will require you to ride with a trainer for a period of time. It's illegal to sleep on the top bunk when the truck is moving; it's unsafe and too much sway being that high. Take a sleeping bag and pillow because you can roll it up and stow it when your trainer is using the bottom bunk while you drive. You will be using the bottom bunk when the trainer is driving. Shop around for the largest sleeping bag,"extra-super large or whatever.
Get some steel toed work boots. Slip-on style are more practical than lace-up style.Last edited: Apr 14, 2015

I am suppose to be starting with Pam or Crst next Monday, very nervous... Plus all the horror stories I have read...
-
Stay away from CRST. They are, by consensus, the worst of the worst and all of your fears will be realized.
-
Thank you... I am actually terrified about all the companies, they all tend to have negative reviews constantly...
-
get your permit before school itll save you money
-
Go with a company that doesn't let the trainer sleep while you are in training ... just sayin..
OP : get your cdl permit before you go to school and your haz-mat endorsement would be good also..
