I'm on that page as well and read that to. Only been doing this for just short of a year and yes the rates have gone down, but there are still plenty of good paying freight out there. I am also wondering the reason myself other than the fuel surcharge going down.

Rates go down with the fuel since the fuel is cheaper so are the rates.

I thought since fuel is cheaper then the FSC would be lower, but people are saying the FSC is the same but the line haul has gone down?

I haven't noticed anything bad, I've been seeing plenty of good freight all over, I spent 2 hours on the board lastnight looking in all different areas, and the different rates and im seeing plenty of 1.40-2.00+ every where. I got lucky coming outta the northeast, got a load going to chambersburg PA then from there I pick up a Relay in Carlisle going to zanesville for 1.40.

well those people are idiots and don't know what they're talking about.
Line haul has stay the same with contact freight I've done multiple times.. the FSC is what is lowed.

Have you seen fuel prices? They're the lowest I've yet to see in a very long time. At the Gary, Indiana terminal fuel is $2 a gallon.
Cheaper fuel = cheaper FSC which lowers your rate.

I've done exactly the same loads multiple times and the line haul rate hasn't changed one cent since I started here four month ago.. the only thing that changed is the FSC.

I dont care about the fuel surcharge. I look at the total linehaul, if its right for me i will book the load. The rate is broken down if you want to see what the fuel surcharge is.
