Yeah, same thing here. We've had nothing but problems with just about every used third-party lease truck we've had since RR took over and started that game. I came to Bruenger with my own truck and, after a year, decided to buy an ex-company truck. She's a great truck and I have had no problems with her, aside from the usual wear and tear issues. Of course, mine had a fairly new Cat reman.
One good thing with it being an ex-company truck is that they have most, if not all, maintenance records and know the truck well. As for your friend that got the Volvo; if it's a former company truck, he got the better deal, IMO.

Made it to Tomah, WI.. Have about 12 hours until I need to head over to distribution center to unload.
Called dispatch to check on a out load for tomorrow and was told nothing available as of right now.. Strange!! I informed them I was told that this was an area with great freight always coming out?? After listening to the eruption of laughter on the other end, I started to feel a little worried!!
Will give them them about an hour and will call them back and check.. Man this first week is not going as I hoped.. Keeping fingers crossed that the load fairy will find me that one light awesome load paying $10.00 a mile.. Lol / I know it's probably a long line!! Well I will pull this fridge out and see it I can fix it. -
itaff Thanks this.

They say if your not a good looking man you should be a handy man, well pulled the fridge out and found the wire unplugged in the back.. Hope it was not unplugged for a reason, but I hear 12v of fridge singing away, it's saying you can go buy food from Walmart now!! Happy, happy, happy..
Joetro Thanks this. -
New respect for them that are paying for there own fuel, so cold tonight but don't want to wast any potential profit by starting the truck up.. Lol

Howdy, well just got my second load off here in the St. Louis Missouri area. talking to my buddy Sean who also started orientation the same time I did. So far this last week he's been able to go out to California pick up a load out there take it to Ohio it is bring a load back to Topeka Kansas tonight. So goes to show that there are some good freight lines here it's just a matter of getting in the right one.
I was just offered a Jacksonville Florida I might consider it if they can find me a load coming back out on Tuesday. Personally I prefer to go Wayout W. Your Way up north for the freight rates are a little better, but I guess at this point it be on next weeks load so anything would be a positive headed into that week.
Well me to call dispatch and find out what they have talk to y'all later!! -
No, seen a 12v at the truck stop.. I might get one before I go north again..

Pretty crazy last night, coming into Fort Worth Texas met that big giant super cell that had 70 mile an hour winds.. Raining so hard I couldn't even see what lane I was in, doing about 5 mph for over 15 min.. Of course these meant every truck in the area was already at the truck stop, so there was no where to park. Finally found an abandoned business and just park in their lot. Never felt so good to stop!!
Drove through Arkansas on 55 yesterday, forgot how beautiful that area really is. What a big beautiful amazing world we live in.
Well don't deliver until Monday morning at 5 AM so I'm gonna try to check my differentials today, maybe try to do a few other things on the truck to make it a little more comfortable. This load will go on next weeks settlement so that's a big positive if I can get something Monday and get back up to Kansas. Rumor is that they have a few meet loads needing to be hauled out to California, so that's my plan if I can make it work. 😋 -
Normally, I have not had to do a lot of sitting around in truck stops, but I did stay at one yeasterday, and,, I am simply amazed at how many drivers can not back a trailer into a simple parking spot.. Really, I literally sat for 15 min waiting on a dude to back in so I could get out.. You ask why, did I not get out and offer to ground guide?? Because I'm sure I would of been ran over.. Lol.. Any who the weather is nice in Dallas and God is good!!
