I've been here since February and they have yet to lie to me or hang me out to dry. They treat me like an adult and have no issues with relying on me to get the job done. It's weird to be treated with respect. I can get in touch with the people I need to get in touch with at any time. Dispatch responds to what goes on out here. If I can't immediately get to my DM another DM is there for support. I have access to the guys who run the fleet, they remember my name, and their office doors are always open. I have the full commitment of the company and all the tools I need to keep running. Brand new truck, trailers that are well maintained, built in freight. I have not met another national driver with a bad attitude. I'm not out here to get rich but to earn a decent living without my own company pooping all over me. So far National fits the bill. Happy trails, brothers.

I don't work for National but I haul into Dodge and Liberal a lot. The majority of the drivers I talk to seem to be pretty content. There will always be a few who aren't, but it's likely they just make the rounds between all the big carriers.

I'm running an '15 KW 680 with Paccar MX-13 and an Eaton auto. Governed at 65 and routinely have my doors blown off by O/O's on level ground but am able to return the favor climbing hills. I have the option to go to manual but only do so on inclines and when the roads are dangerously slick. I wasn't sure about the trans but it has earned my respect.

As for Florida, I visited with a driver who lives down there and he has no problem getting home. The good people of Florida eat beef and delivering beef is our business. Getting out of Florida? I can't say. I'm headed to a wedding in Orlando in June. I'll check back and let you know

So then the recruiter "mislead" me some, said governed at 70 and only some auto's, I'm guessing that may be wrong too??? Was told APU's and 2500 watt inverters in all the trucks too, are we close there?? They advertise often in Ocala but usually see them looking for 3 weeks out too... That puts me at the very limit of my patience, not a fun way to work for me... Also told there are dedicated/ regional you can work into so that may be something but I'd need to find out some more I guess...

How's the Bennie's there too, are they reasonably priced and do they actually benefit you at all???

    Thanks for the shout back!!!

    Forgive the belated reply, bro:

Our trucks are governed at 65ish.

All the 680s have 2500 inverters and APUs. If you don't want an auto they can set you up with an older freightliner or t700.

I don't know about dedicated but we do have regional. We have western and southwestern. Western spend a lot of time in Cali. Southwestern, primarily the Midwest. I am southwestern but will take any load they give me.

They do want you to stay out for 3 weeks. You can bank your days. The last time I took home time I took 5 days and nobody had a problem with it.

I'm still having great success here. Attitude is everything.
