For me it was quite some time......My issue with the 720 was due to a bug with the junction view.
If I remember right it was a bunch of pressing and holding until the screen shutoff, then release and press again to turn it back on(still frozen), then press and hold until it turned off, then re-press and it would re-boot itself.

The Truck GPS no matter whom, takes into account a lot more types of attributes for the type of vehicle you are driving - Class 8 truck. The way the roads are tagged in the map segments will determine the route.
A little food for thought.

Lake County, in North-East IL
I had complained last year about the county route numbers being wrong not matching from the signs on the road and what TND 520 was showing.
Well today I had the pleasure of putting on 190 miles in Lake County, IL and I noticed that the route number now match. Thanks for making the correction Mark.Mark Kling Thanks this. -

Just out of wacky curiosity, why dont we have a brightness dimmer button on any of the screens, sometimes if weather is involved it gets dark outside quick and blinds me, end up fumbling thur the settings looking for the dimming settings.
pumpkinhead Thanks this. -
After owning my 520 for over 2 years, finally a map update. I was really wondering about the 'lifetime maps' promise.
I didn't even mind getting a memory card to make it possible.
Considering the size of the update, I guess I shouldn't be surprised it took so long. It seems to have completely replaced the older maps, and took more room than the base storage capacity.
Here's hoping that the 'fast' SD I installed doesn't slow things down too much.
(Fast probably equals mid range these days. 48MB/s is what the package said. And I can remember building desktop video editing workstations that required 4 of the fastest hard drives in RAID to get even 30MB/s.)
I'm looking forward to seeing if it now sees some of the roads it has failed to see since my 510 days.
I'm also wondering if I will get fewer warnings about dirt roads, exactly 10 miles before an off ramp.
I haven't had it on the road yet, but from viewing the map from home I think I like some of the changes - like displaying county roads with the image the actual county uses. Nice touch.
From what I've read here I think I'm glad I didn't get the 720. It seems to have many more problems than my 520.
Every time my 520 locks up I just have to hold the power button for 5 seconds to shut it off. Then I wait about 30 seconds and turn it back on.
The only time it locks up is when I've done too many things.
It seems every time I change a route option or do a search for a POI or something, it fills the RAM up to capacity because it is trying to retain too much past information.
Not a hard thing to fix, for a decent programmer.
Needless to say, I am excited about this latest update. I can't wait to get back out on the road to check it out.
