Has anybody switch from duals to super singles? How much weight did you truly save? Needing some real world experience. Thanos

I see some companies who had switched to super singles have switched back to duals.

    PE_T Thanks this.

Yea, I think the weight savings and then the replacement costs for a tire and rim when they go flat and drivers don't stop in time added up to where in the long run they lost money versus the few extra pounds of freight they could haul, plus the fuel savings might not of been there..
Not sure on the fuel savings part, so please don't quote me on that part

I drove for a company in the 70’s that had had singles on their trailers, but they had got rid of all singles except for one trailer. I believe they tried it and it was not worth it and slowly got rid of them.

I had them till winter came here in michigan. Could not get going in the snow and was a nightmare on the road they would break loose in a heart beat. Driving 35 mph afraid I was going to jack knife any second. It is not worth it.
