It's a lot of work to change engines from one brand to another. The best way is if you have a wrecked donor truck of the same kind with a good engine. Then you get all the brackets, mounts, fittings, lines and little pieces to make it fit.

Cheapest way out is to find a good used running engine of the same kind and swap it yourself.

This is something I was talking to a friend about the other day. There is a name for this, but I forget what he called. It makes sense, but is still a bit of work involved. You'll spend less money by looking for a older truck. Just make sure it's in decent shape and you can get a good one for $12,000 or less. If your engine is locked up, it will likely cost $16,000 or so for an in-frame. You can do it for the cost of parts looking at about $10,000.
