Love's in Hutchins, TX. Made my drop with no hook last night in Wilcox a couple of miles south.
What with the computer system battles company wide yesterday it took until a couple of hours before making my delivery to FINALLY confirm that I've got a preplan picking up in Hutchins to deliver in Denver Monday morning. When the customer in Wilcox didn't have an empty I asked for an empty solution and went to this Love's a couple miles north. FIVE HOURS later I finally got the solution: bobtail to the customer.
Therefore I'm taking a split 8 to grab this new load midday and fight through DFW traffic and try to possibly make it to Childress before the balance of my 11/14 runs out. If I can do that I'll be able to deliver the load on time Monday morning and flip my schedule almost completely to becoming solar powered again.
Good Night From II

Hehe reminds me when I was a tanker in the army on the cold winter days the infantry would hear our tanks fire up and get behind them. They would also grab seeping bags and dry them out. At home told my DM need 6 days off going to be look for another job. The 1984 swift trucks last straw

Well, I thought that I was out of here. Got my truck out of KW yesterday and none of my dash readings where working. Just the gauges. Took it back to KW this morning an they found that when they were checking wiring this disconnected a wire. Now up an running and trying like everyone else to get a load out of here. Tried to call my terminal and calls are being routed to Memphis so that is a no go. On Friday most of all the loads where Cali still.
OceanDan Thanks this. -
Why are you trying to dodge Dallas traffic on a Saturday?
Flying J in Baytown, TX taking a break before running to the state line with this one to Freightliner in Cleveland, NCOceanDan Thanks this. -
Take a load to SoCal and call Command Monday morning. They had plenty of freight out of SoCal when I spoke with my guy yesterday.

From Hutchins to Denver the route goes through the heart of downtown on I-45. But you are right, it went fairly smoothly, almost the speed limit the entire way. Something about Texas on a sunny day does bring out folks that want to camp out in any given lane doing 10-15 mph below the speed limit, while the rest of the folks are trying to drive at least that fast above the speed limit.
Decided to cut the day short in Childress at the Walmart. This Walmart, unlike many others, has an actual truck parking area with signs leading you to overnight parking.
I've got 526 miles to final in Denver, so now I'm in great shape to get myself in position to make the Monday morning live unload with a full clock. -
Peelot Beloit WI. Dropped and picked up at Ashley Furniture up in Arcadia. Will be a very good week for miles, not so good with the lunacy coming from corporate. Spoken to five fellow company Swifties since I learned the plot, all five said "I'm gone".
Did find some warm curds, REAL 'sconny brats and some delicious Wisconsin meat sticks. My tummy has been happy.
Got til late Monday to drop this back in Ecru, crooked letter state. Will be there early then start asking to get me to Greer to turn in Cassie. We're moving this coming Friday/Saturday. Hope to have some new employment prospects lined up for orientation so I won't need to head to the Houston terminal to get assigned another truck. I'd drive more for Swift if the truck doesn't have a cam. We'll see. -
I hear ya Dan, and when they say Kindle head to Greer (or wherevere) I''m with ya. Bye bye Swift when the message comes. Sadly I like my job with Swift. What I do fits my lifestyle perfectly.OceanDan Thanks this.

While my first reaction to the cameras was to up and leave, I'll wait and see what comes of it.
Unless I get assigned to a new truck with a camera I'll be in mine for some time, and it seems from the video that I'll not be one of the first to have it installed.
I'd really like to see how it plays out with those first groups, and if Swift tips their hand by accessing the video when it's not sent by a critical event. -
Paul there are many companies that will hire you in a heartbeat. I'll admit I'm a "homer" when I settle on a company. However, an issue this offensive???? I have no hesitation heading to another team.Kindle Thanks this.
