loose leafs, I get totally where you are coming from. Most wyoming natives, like me believe believe in personal responsibility, but we have lost so many law suits to idiots who expect the government to protect them from themselves, and acts of god, that what you and I both agree is a bad policy on closing the roads when the towns fill up, is reality.
It is also amazing just how fast many of those trucks running in near white out conditions, in heavy wet snow. It took over 2 days to clear the travel lanes, while more snow fell.
The State tried the barricade the road at rawlins two years ago, during another spring storm, and sending the traffic up to casper and around.... Rawlins ran out of food in 36 hours...due to people unwilling to go around, and just waiting the storm out. It was a disaster... Remember Rawlins is only a town of 10,000 people with ONE grocery store. Closest next town is over 100 miles away.
The law in wyoming used to be travel at your own risk, the state is not liable for your welfare.
Spring time in Wyoming! Yeah!

You know, watching the videos leads me to one thing. A cb radio could have lessened this. By a lot. If drivers would turn on the CB and other drivers would alert people to what's going on, this would have been far less worse than it was. In bad weather, I have the cb on. Just in case. Even turning the squelch to hear the white noise so maybe you can hear something in the distance is a lot better than literally driving blind, which is what they did. They didn't see the accident until they were right up on it and by then it was too late.

I just watched the video on Facebook that someone posted....I've never seen a bunch of fools with cdls as I did in that video...all hauling butt into white out conditions and slamming into one another...I saw england, mct, amerifreight, fedex, transam...just to name a few..they should all have their cdls pulled.
