In the first video that I posted a couple of days ago showing the accident from the opposite side, you can see the first TransAm truck and the white pick up truck towing a black trailer making it through ....after that no one made it through. Both of those guys must lead a charmed life ....passport220 Thanks this.

Update on I 80 Pileup Crash West of Laramie*
59 vehicles have been confirmed to be involved in this morning's crash with the potential of another four to six more. The large fire that ensued from the crash delayed the investigation efforts for an extended period. Wyoming Highway Patrol Crash Team Members and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation are still continuing to work through the crash scene.
An estimated 20 - 25 motorists were transported to Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming. 10 were transported to the hospital by ambulance and the remainder were brought in either by school bus or personal transport. Of those who were seen by the hospital, three were admitted to I.M.H. and one was transferred to University Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Still only one confirmed fatality has been reported so far.
The tanker hauling hazardous materials in the crash did catch fire but did not bleve so the hazardous material was not released into the open.
One arrest has been made from the crash at this time. 45 year old Alex Dragaytsev, from Longueuil, Quebec, Canada, has been arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. Mr. Dragaytsev has been transported to the Albany County Detention Center in Laramie.
A digital message sign 19 miles before the crash site had been advising westbound motorists of "Reduced Visibility, Black Ice and Reduce Speed" since 5:57 a.m. that morning.
Interstate 80 remains closed between Laramie and Sinclair. Westbound traffic from Laramie has been rerouted on US 30 to Walcott Junction. The extensive investigation and cleanup will keep that stretch of I 80 closed for some time. Motorists can check www.wyoroad.info or call 1-888-WYO-ROAD for updates on the closure.

Woohoo! I passed my road test, in a manual, yesterday.Anyone remember the movie "Tommy Boy" when Chris Farley's character passes his last class with a D- and is all happy & excited? I passed but need some practice on a manual. On the bus to go to the new company. Two hour ride. Will finish paper work and get a 2015 Freightliner with 36k miles on it. Should get my first load tomorrow.
HometimeQueen, Panhandle flash, dennisroc and 3 others Thank this. -
Sweet Passport!! But, there was NEVER a doubt. Though, I prefer an automatic (ATL.and LA traffic jams) I am looking at a couple of "manual" companies too such as Magnum and Big G along with Cargo Transporters (automatics). All I have driven is Autos since being out of school, but would not be afraid to doing manual at this point. Will be interested in following you and travels as always. ALL THE BEST!!
dennisroc and passport220 Thank this. -
^ Thank you sir! I am also like you, I think an auto trans is the right tool for the job for OTR trucking. However, I should net several hundred dollars per month more by grinding gears with this job. Overall for the mix of what this company had for me, I'll do the shifting job and like it. I also thought it would be good to have at least one job with manual transmission experience on the resume.
Yeps, it is about time for you to make the jump also George. As others here have told me, I waited too long to leave TransAm. I can see it for myself now. I will be doing the same job as with TA and will likely net a min. of $800 more per month.Panhandle flash and dennisroc Thank this. -
If I knew how, I would post "It's a Small World" video on her for the queen. Lol
passport220 Thanks this. -
i doubled my income from being a fleece driver

and the IRS only dislikes me instead of hating medennisroc, passport220, Panhandle flash and 1 other person Thank this. -
Congrats, Sir Passport! Enjoy the new job .....and of course, the additional pay! I will expect your donation check towards the new car in a couple of weeks!

I'm not gonna tell him. Are you, Pete?
When we all first came to this thread there were dozens of other threads about how bad the lease program was.....but drivers were still signing up for it. We have had no new drivers asking about TA in quite awhile. I hope the fact that we kept it honest and gave them the facts....including you posting a settlement statement .....has made a difference.
You did well, Pete ......most of us would love an opportunity like you have.......except make it the south for me!
passport220 and Panhandle flash Thank this.
