slim chance on 388's since most of them are al ready placed with older drivers. Those that want to stick with a hood like to get the 388's. but yes mostly whatever is available

Thanks so much for posting this thread, Gunner! It took my husband and I quite awhile to get through it all (we both took sections, lol) but the info you provided here is invaluable & very much appreciated. Good luck on your future endeavors!

    Gunner75 Thanks this.

    Gunner,

Read in another thread that TMC weekly home time is basically a 34 hr reset and back out. Was that your experience when there or did you get a full 2 days off. I'm speaking about the majority of the time. I realize some weekends due to load issues may have cut short TAH.

    WingNut72 Thanks this.

My resets were anywhere from just my 34 to as much as a 52 hours home. It all depends on where your home time load is going and when you get in.

Lady Snake and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this.

Hi guys, I'm new to this thread and have enjoyed reading them. I actually started orientation today 4-21-15,and was sent home due to high protein in my urine. But I have a Doc's appt in the morning so I'm sure I'll be fine. My question is does anyone know how the freight moves from Birmingham,Al? Don't think I've read from someone from Al yet...Thx

When I went thru orientation (5+ years ago now) and there were some big ole boys in my class. I think as long as you can pass the physical and demostrate you can do the physical parts of the job then you have a chance ( lots of reasons to be cut during the two weeks). Be aware though that part of the physical side of tarping is getting yourself onto the deck of the trailer. If its the same as when I was there then you pick up the tarp from the ground, put it on your shoulder carry it over to the trailer and put it on the deck from the side. Pull yourself onto the deck from the side as well without help or any ladder/step/stool. Then put tarp on top of the coil then walk around and bring it off. Also they check to see if your afraid of heights. They have a sea container on top of flatbed. You have to climb ladder get on top of container and walk to edge and put your toes over the edge.
