dennisroc, you have the most gorgeous property over there, it is hard to imagine that you would want to come back here and spend time in a truck. That being said, I do understand why you would want to do so for awhile. When I left home I never looked back and had no desire to ever return to that part of the country....but there comes a time when you want to reconnect with the places that are still home in your heart. I think driving a truck back in the states is something that you will eventually do just for you. Not because it is the best decision financially or from a career standpoint, but because you are ready to touch base one more time. If you are 90 when you finally do it .....well then, so be it. :yes2557:

Hmmmmm ....His Crankiness gets a load of lemons and onions .....:biggrin_2559:

I shouldn't find that funny .....I have been a bit cranky myself. I haven't been sleeping very well. It seems you all develop some bad habits while you are sleeping in a truck. The King has turned into a bed hog! .....He takes over the whole bed.....I wake up in the space between the bed and the nightstand hanging onto the mattress for dear life. :biggrin_2552: I am thinking of putting a tack strip down the middle of the bed.......

I would be carefull with the tack strip idea, he may not roll onto it the first night you put it down and you end up hitting it :biggrin_25513:. Would try something soft like a line of stiff pillows instead as it would provide a solid object like the back of the truck like he is used to.

We all got loads out of Ca. That match our personalities.
Should be home sometime tomorrow. Then I get to hog the bed. The King and I must be twins cause my wife says the same thing. I think she exaggerates just a little

Turned the key and the motor wouldn't turn over so no trip to Cheyenne, but a tow to the Kenworth dealer in Battleboro NC (near Rocky Mount) and a day or two more at the house. Jungho and I sat with the truck 8 hours today. At least it didn't happen on the road. A silver lining to be sure.

Pete, I'm getting in the ballpark of 7.8 MPG. Some days a little less, some days I'm pulling over 8mpg. Overall this truck gets much better fuel economy than my 680 did.

I talked to the head honcho in leasing today and increased my truck payment to eliminate my balloon payment at the end. So at the end of the lease, the pony will be mine! And since it's a ProStar, I will be able to stay on the 99 cent fuel plan even as an owner op. Based on my current paychecks, if I were to not have a truck payment, I could easily clear $2000 a week without working too hard. I'll take it!

We are governed at 64. Can get it turned up if we want to pay full price for fuel. I usually run 55-59mph most days.

Hey, it just saves me even more money! I hustle when I have to, but when I don't, I kick back and cruise. I'm trying to make Best of the Best or Rising Star this year and fuel economy is one of the things they look at.
