How much time are you out west? And what areas do you go? Do you spend much time in Colorado or north of Colorado

I'm not sure if you still need answers here but here is the best information I can give you.
For Phase 2 you'll spend a lot of time across I40 & I10 between Kentucky & Southern California. As for where else you'll go look at a map. Draw a line from Minneapolis-St Paul down I35 to I40 & head west to Southern Cal. And there's your running area minus Deep South Florida. And you will not operate at all in any chain law areas. Nowhere. So if that's a concern rest easy. -
Big Ugly, do you know if PTL pays Practical or HHG miles? I'm still in school currently, but I do have a pre-hire with PTL so i'm currently finding out all I can about the company. I've read your's and other peoples threads, but I can't remember if that questions was ever answered.

HHG using Rand McNally. I'm can't say for sure which version since there is about 15-20 different versions that go customer by customer. Here's what I can tell you. The dispatch paid miles & actual drive miles vary by around 10% or so.
A few recent examples that can put it in perspective.
1. Bridgeton, MO to Fountain Inn, SC
Paid miles = 691 Miles driven = 728
2. Irmo, SC to Carol Stream, IL
Paid miles = 864 Miles driven = 907
3. Rockford, IL to York, SC
Paid miles = 898 Miles driven = 959
Those are the general average trips I get weekly. Weekends I usually get a 1100-1300 mile run on a Friday due on Monday. This is for the most part how most of the industry works. It's a wash at the end of the day when you consider several other perks. And the variance in the miles usually involves traveling around a city instead of thru it. -
ptl is decent company but if you can get on with another company you would be better off.
previous employee123456 Thanks this. -
The whole mileage thing is an industry-wide problem. It's only going to be a source of frustration and isn't anything a driver has any impact on, so for me, I don't concern myself with it. The company (no matter which one) will pay what they pay. There's enough other stress out here...
