Can anyone tell me how to determine a rate for my company to haul grain from farm to Elevator about 70-80 miles please?

when I hauled grain back when it was always by the bushel.... somewhere between .10 and .20 cent per bushel
ND Grain Hauler 2015 Thanks this. -

that's not a bad price.. 1,000 bushels a load 160 mile round trip 30 minute load 30 minute unload.. everybody is making money.....

Thanks. Appreciate the help. I try to be fair but still have to make money to pay bills.

Thank you, I am trying to be as fair as I can. On short runs I usually go by the mile.

To answer the OP question on short hauls off the farm I use an hourly base rate then convert it bushels or CWT plus fuel surcharge. Course you have to try to estimate the time your truck is in line in your quote cause you can't go up once you start. Every crop weighs different, .25 a bushel may be good on wheat but suck at sunflower seeds. Reason being you can't get a legal load of sunflowers in a standard 78 in side Timpte unless the moisture is high.
On longer stuff I convert a per mile rate to bushels or CWT/fuel surcharge rate. I realize y'all run bigger trailers and more axles than we do but the principle is the same. One thing I'm sure of is if you will haul it for .25 there is 10 others than will haul it for .15. That, and grain prices are killing us
