Cranky Yankee asks some valid questions, Kenny. Training sucks no matter what company you are with. Most of the time you do not get home at all while you are training. Also, many companies are beginning to place limits on the number of driving jobs that you have had within a certain period of time.
Why did you only make $200? That is pretty low. TransAm did pay $50 a day during training .....many students will draw against their pay during the week and it leaves them with a nominal paycheck.

Happy Birthday, jaso!!!
jaso37, Panhandle flash and wulfman75 Thank this. -
Kenny, the Queen is correct about everything including average miles per week. Obviously when you go home a couple of days your mileage will drop. She is absolutely correct in not leasing. Then, you can never afford to go home. Best of luck!!
HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
Kenny stay where you are. Get you experience in at one company as Cranky wrote you don't want to be a company jumper. You are still in training and training sucks. If you do go to Trans Am do not lease. Look back in this thread for the reasons why. They will make it sound real good then you back to hotel where the other new guys(who don't know what they are doing either) make it sound real good cause they do not know any better. Just ask yourself this about a lease, have you ever worked 3-4 days and not got paid and not only not got paid but owed the company money? If you can be happy doing that then maybe you can lease but every driver who has leased has experienced that unless you never plan on any home time.
Thank you HTQ for the birthday wishesHometimeQueen Thanks this. -
Hope my truck is fixed tomorrow. Itching to get back out there. Been home 10 days tomorrow. Though enjoyed the weekend at OBX with Jungho and her daughters.
HometimeQueen and jaso37 Thank this. -
Happy birthday jaso.
Well, the trk stop AND the rest area I was shooting for were both full already. Did find a spot at the rcvr I can park at. Walked around a bit, trying to scope this place out, and here's my question to y'all. What kind of rcvr, does NOT have a door marked receiving?
Kenny, know your not wanting to hear us but, listen to what the others have said. Complete your training and try to stick it our for at least a year there. You'll have plenty of opportunities, to figure things out on your own afterwards.jaso37 Thanks this. -
Thanks Flash

Joke time, HTQ! Everyone sick or something? Congrats on being "back in the saddle again," passport. Hometime, gotten another vehicle yet? How are things with the king. Please keep George & I in your prayers. His truck has been out of commission for almost a week now. Next two paychecks will be scrawny.
Take care and be safe, All!
