When did you shower last ?
Some seem to need a shower twice a day.. -
What's the longest yall have gone without a shower? I noticed the really stinky drivers get loaded/unloaded faster so they won't offend the delicate nasal passages of the shippers/receivers!

I know if I have to skip a day I it makes me feel terrible!
I'm used to taking one in the morning and one before bed at home. So on the road it is every day if at all possible.
Yes,I'm a clean freak! I use Lysol in every truck I climb into and even wash the sleeper curtains...
I will NOT accept a truck without a new mattress either!....
I hate to say it but man! some drivers are just nasty as F! -
I don't see why you would shower any more/less than you do at home. If a daily shower in the morning/afternoon/evening is what you're used to, go for it! If you shower every other day at home, that's what you should do in the road!
Your life isn't a democracy, where if the majority of people do it one way, you must abide.
We ran a lot of the northeast and truck stop parking was a luxury whenever we had time to stop, not a given. That said, we were members of a gym that could accommodate the truck in Montreal (supper, workout, sauna, shower then bed was KILLER for great sleep) and I also found out that many truck dealerships have showers on site when you are in for service. Some of our company terminals did, some didn't, so there were usually some options besides the crammed full truck stops. -
I honestly average about every three days. True there is the mandatory ten hour break, but there are more factors then that. Some times there are no showers available (meaning all being used and maintenance very slow to clean them) and about a dozen drivers waiting. That can mean a wait of more then an hour. I'm not proud of it but on occasion I've had to go as long as six days. When I finally get in to one I'm there for about an hour.
Anyone who says there is no reason you cant get a shower everyday if you want to is way off base.tompetty69 Thanks this. -
While running flatbed I showered everyday. Dirty work and sweat don't smell so nice on a big dude. I also kept sanitizer wipes for cleaning me hands and arms( flatbed chains always have rust on them).

I shower daily, usually at night before I sleep. Dealing with the livestock is dirty, sweaty work. Longest I've ever had to wait for a shower to be available is maybe 20 minutes. I use babywipes to clean my hands, neck etc each time after I've been in the trailer. They're cheap and do the job well. When I was hauling cattle I had rubber boots and coveralls and rubber gloves I used whenever I was loading or unloading and kept them in a plastic tub with a lid in the cubby.

My wife and I run an expediting team truck and when we're under load we get a shower every other day, that's about all the extra time built into the loads... While waiting for a load after empty, we try to get one everyday, IF we're at a truck stop we have shower credits for.... Today for instance, we're waiting in Portland, OR and the closest truck stop to our delivery location was the Jubitz, in Portland so we had no shower credits, don't need fuel... We did spring for the shower upgrade last night which got me a shower and the wife a Jacuzzi tub, but $12 for a shower or $17 for the upgraded one isn't doable day after day.
