Thanks gang. Yeah its good to be back out here! At the Flying J in Mt Airy NC. Didnt know this place existed. On NC 49 1 mile west off of I 74. Nice restaurant called Brintles here. Had pork chop dinner with fried rice and green beans. Passed on the Peter Brady special (apple sauce-thats schwell). Pickup at awesome products headed to Dollar General in Marietta Oklahoma due Sunday night but gonna try to pickup early tomorrow (instead of 2pm) and deliver Sunday morning as opposed to Sunday night. Deuces gang.

The world has become a crazy place. I believe this is a Henderson driver.
A body was found Thursday night inside a semi-truck that was parked less than a block from the CVS drug store that was set afire in Baltimore on Monday night in the unrest following the death of Freddie Gray.
The body of an adult man was found sometime after about 9 p.m., said Sgt. Jarron Jackson, a spokesman for Baltimore City police, and details were few.
Jackson said officers are treating it as a suspicious death. So far, he said around 11 p.m., the body did not appear to be related to the events of Thursday night or of the last several days of unrest in Baltimore.
The truck remained near the intersection of Pennsylvania and North avenues late Thursday night. That intersection was mostly calm, and the streets had essentially been cleared by police, due to the citys 10 p.m. curfew.passport220 Thanks this. -
Thats sad, and they problebly won't catch who ever did it if it was not natural causes given what has happened there.
On a side note who left the freezer door open? Started to walk the dogs this morning and almost needed a jacket. Kinda wish I was camping this week instead of the hot weather of last weekend.HometimeQueen and passport220 Thank this. -
It is sad and becoming an increasing concern. We have talked about driver safety before and that for the most part, using common sense is your best protection....but common sense only works when you are dealing with normal people. Another concern is having to park on the street in larger cities in order to meet on time deliveries.
There are all of these wonderful new innovations and technologies on the new trucks.....most of them to make them more fuel efficient, etc. In other words ,so that the equipment makes more money. But I see nothing that specifically says it is designed for driver safety. I have seen such an increase in driver deaths from exhaust leaks and yet they don't even equip the trucks with a co2 detector . A simple solution to a deadly problem. Truck fires have also increased. There are smoke and fire detectors on many of the newer trucks, but it is my understanding that they are in the computer system for the truck engine compartment ....and nothing that would sound an alarm if a driver was in the sleeper. In other words, it is to save the truck....not the driver.
One of the most recent government studies on trucks and truck crashes had some interesting statistics that were kind of swept under the rug. Did you know that a truck that has been in even a minor front end collision is far more likely to catch on fire within 6 months? I forget the exact numbers but it dramatically increases the chances. How many drivers know the history of the truck they are driving, especially if you drive for a large carrier?
Ok, I'm gonna jump down off of my soapbox for now. Beautiful weather here the last few days. Got the yard mowed yesterday, tried to do the trimming but couldn't get the weed eater to work properly. Think I might wash my car today and I need to clean out my garage.....that will take several days. The King won't let me have one of his garages ....
