Its just a stepping stone, Then you can go almost anywhere.
I'd still choose them over your other 2 choices

Working for Schneider for a year or two will look much better to prospective employers in the future than a dry van company if you plan on pulling tanks.

I followed your post from the beginning and I knew it was going to end poorly. Schneider is just another junk OTR company! It doesn't matter what type of trailer you are pulling.

I talked to a bulk driver for them quite some time back who was loading at a facility that I load from. It was sad to say the least. He made no money that day yet he worked for almost 14 hours.

I don't know how you non-union people do it?

I have 1 week before I test to get my CDL's. Im pretty sure that I am going to go with Schneider. I am all for OTR Tanker but I am married and have a 3 year old I see every other weekend. The pay sounds great for OTR Tanker, but I am wondering what about Regional Tanker. I would like to know the rest of Orientation. I was told it's 28-34 days. Is school 7 days a week? If so that would be better that 5 days a week for $80. Im looking for as much info as possible. Thanks

Well, I made a poor decision coming here. I thought I could make it 6 months to a yr and get the "experience" other companies require, Im not going to make it.

They have started their workflow and it seems that not one person did their homework on this, they just woke up one day and flipped a switch. Over 10% of the bulk fleet has quit in the past month. (That's well over 100 drivers) and most were senior drivers with more than 5 yrs with Schneider. There are no miles to be had, I cannot seem to get over 1700 miles a week. They have "lost" most fo their trailers, meaning the new system did not bring over their inventory and does not know where they are located. They have sent me for trailers in Reserve that will turn up in PA.

They have suspended I/Cs for the next few months due to the I/Cs walking off because of these issues. They have started cutting company driver miles back so that they will quit and make room for the new trainies since they get a big subsidy for training from the government. They could care less about driver retention. You could stay a yr but you will be bankrupt in that time.

I have sat on my butt for every Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday since I started here. I complain constantly explaining that I cannot keep sitting and doing nothing or working for pennies. They could care less.

I have started searching for somewhere else to go. $300 to $500 a week wont cut it.

I will say that the training is good that is all that is good.

Bulk knew about workflow because dryvan has been using it for 3 years but schneider can't seem to work out the kinks but apparently your dbl sucks because i got friends still there that are at least moving even with the extra crap from workflow but i would suggest looking into ctl i got a buddy over there that makes good money and they dont require experience

    BigMac1882 Thanks this.

That sounds horrible lol. I know at least one of your loads went to me, I live loaded at Neville Island and the loader said "You're supposed to be a Schneider, wonder what happened."

march wasn't the greatest for me, but so far april has been good... i have a feeling i've just been really lucky though. lots of empty trucks starting to pile up at the bulk oc's. they need to suspend bulk training , i saw 20 or so guys in cory training when there isn't even enough work for current drivers.
