I actually prefer company per diem as long as they don't charge admin fees -- better for everyone (except the IRS). But as a W2 company pulling what has to be the easiest auto trailer I've ever seen:
...and making $1500/week -- I wouldn't think you'd have problems finding drivers.
Have I lost touch with this industry?

If I was a newbie with a year under my belt instead of a sitting on the rail wannabe I would be all over this gig.
KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -
The fact that you think being away for a month and putting up with OTR BS is easier than a long hours office job may also be part of why you can't understand drivers anymore. You literally have to be crazy to be a career OTR driver, lol. -

Wow, just wow. "What?!? Sacrifice to have nice things? NO WAY! "
This is why America is no longer the economic powerhouse it once was, because far too many only care about the "Me!" and would never consider putting blood, sweat, and tears into an endeavor that may or may not pay off in the long term.
I wish you luck, Stan, but I fear there is no solution to your problem. I have a hard time finding guys as well, as we talked about in the past. Easily $10K+/month after expenses, and out of 14 guys, 1 is under 30, and only 2 under 40. And the youngun has talked of walking away because he doesn't think it's worth it. He could retire a wealthy man @ 50, but the work cramps his ability to stay up late and play games. SMHfortycalglock, Speedloader, truckon and 6 others Thank this. -
Most of the people here are men so let me put it this way.....young people want to make money and be able to screw their girlfriends/wives/neighbors wives at least once a week. You can only put up with your right hand for so long.Brandson Thanks this. -
the ones that demand more money deserve it the least
not all OTR jobs are out months at a time
just the way the pat weeks go i was off 3 days
drove 4600 miles to Ca and back
then taking 6 off
never missed a paycheck
I resent new drivers thinking they even know enough to speakHammer166, joseph1135, KANSAS TRANSIT and 4 others Thank this. -
Why is it that people that don't like to work end up working more then those of us that like to work in the long run?
-
I didn't get where I am by working to live I know that.
TruckDuo, Speedloader, truckon and 3 others Thank this.
