The only thing I can think of that maybe it is like you are putting a deposit down on the equipment and if you leave you turn all the equipment back in and get your deposit back. I bet people would take better care of their stuff if they had a monetary interest in it. I certainly don't condone a program like that though.

Boo that stinks...well now that that's cleared up anyone have expierence with their refrigerated trucks is it worth it? I'm not in a rush though so if Maverick is the better choice I can wait until the second week of June when I get my orientation

She never mentioned a deposit or getting money back when its paid back she specifically said that they take $75 a week until its paid off that was it

You might want to ask your question in the prime area if you want an accurate answer.
As for Prime making there drivers but chains, load locks, tarps and any other basic equipment a driver would need, prime had you purchase it for a couple reasons. First, most people take care of items they own versus they were just given so you don't "lose" them as often and you make sure they are in good working order. Second, my understanding is in the past drivers use to sell the equipment at truck stops and either claim it was stolen, broken or just plane lost. Think of how much a full set of chains cost for one truck and now multiple that by size of the fleet. I know when I worked for other companies the equipment we got was crap and other drivers were selling the stuff to make an extra buck and telling dispatch they were stolen or broke and needed new ones.
Yes, prime does make all the flatbed drivers but there own tarps, binders and chains. They do have used ones available as well at a reduced price as well as you can always sell your equipment back to them.
Good luck,

I doubt that.
Pick a random thread in the Prime section and it will be full of people that don't drive for Prime dishing out halfish info based on some traumatic experience they had with another company. -
LOL, yes there is some truth to that as well. Or the soccer moms that don't like truck drivers as well.
-
If that's the case, and I paid it off, it would follow me to the next employer.....
-
Maybe prime should make the company drivers buy their truck so they would take better care of that to....
To the op string prime along and keep looking in the meantime ..... -
Ok well the other option was maverick glass division or regular flatbedding since the pay and miles are pretty good plus they pay you for orientation
-
If you can get on with Maverick i wouldn't even be looking at Prime better company all around from what i've seen and heard from both company drivers
