    Getting back into trucking after about 10 yrs working on a ambulance. How hard is it to get the hazmat endorsement? I had it before and all I did was take a test. I heard now before you take the test you have to go thru a cori check.

    It has changed big time it cost about 87 $ the test is about the same with trick ? If you pass they will set you up with homeland security and you get finger printed then wait about 3 weeks to a month then they come in the mail. Its more of a joke then anything.

    It not hard, just takes a little bit for everything to go through. The check goes way deeper than CORI does, checks you at Federal level and against every list they have these days. Mine took almost 2 months I think to go through. They fingerprint you as well now, you may want to consider getting TWIC as well since they will recycle the background check so it doesn't hurt.

    I can't speak for MA, but here in MD they do the fingerprints right there in the MVA. They are a separate entity so they will require separate payment.
