Here's my flood of information re the status quo of hauling water (pun intended)...........
I haul water, and we recently got our pay cut by one (1) dollar per hour. OK, I can live with that............. I used to average 65-70 hours per week, three (3) weeks ago it dropped to about 60 hrs., then 55, now we are struggling to get 40 hrs per week. That kills out o.t., and that is where the money was.
And, it seems that our clients and supervisors are suddenly looking over our shoulders like never before, as though they are going to start to document any violation in order to terminate people - "for cause" - to avoid paying unemployment. Have not actually seen that, but it is just the vibe that I get.
And, I am in the Midland-Odessa area working for a large outfit. When the bust first hit, we were told that we would be the last to feel it, and now we do............... whats next?

If you were ever looking for a local LTL job with good pay and benefits, now's the time to grab one.
Everyone but the oilfield is hurting for drivers. -
Its pretty slow in San Angelo too, been looking at powerline, road construction type outfits in the Austin up to killeen area. Since its close and the RV parks are cheaper and way nicer in those areas then here in West TX.

Well I lasted as long as I could in the TX oilfields and decided today to quit my company and prepare for orientation with one of three companies next Monday. Looks like it's back to 53 footers and SMOOTH roads for this guy...I am NOT going to miss the lease roads, that's for #### sure lol.
I got no hard feelings. I specifically went to CDL school and got a year of experience to land in the oilfields. The plan was originally North Dakota and somehow I ended up out here in South Texas. I wish it would've given me at least another year, but it is what is. Positive thinking reminds me that I have one year oilfield/tanker experience now, if it booms again I'll be ready.
Best of luck to y'all still out there, whether it be out here in the eagle ford, west TX or North Dakota. Stay safe.
unloadertallmon Thanks this. -
We are in the same situation unloader. Put in our notice yesterday. We are going back OTR the first of June. It was a great experience and fun while it lasted. If things were still going like they were when we started then we would stay. But like you said, it is what it is.
