Hey Riprap, did you end up getting the lights installed? I saw a trailer a few weeks ago running lights similarly to the way jbatmick posted about. The trailer had three 4" lights on each side, outside for signal and two insides for brake. He had only his outside signal lights running with his marker lights, while the brake lights stayed dark until braking. I thought this setup looked so effective that I would probably run it that way if I had the decision to make.

 

I like the three light setup too but I like for 2 of them to be tail lights so that one can burn out and you are not getting pulled over for an inspection/warning/fine because of a tail light that is out.
