Cpap in portable battery crapped out at 0530. Plugged it into the bunk control panel outlet without using the humidifier and that one worked fine.

Fyi all sleeper 12v outlets are powered through 20 amp fuses in the fuse panel dash outlets are 15 amp.. Theres a chart in the owners manual listing which are grouped rogether on a circuit as well as which tier for lvd cutoff. Pages 3.5 and 3.6. Pages 25.1 and 25.2 contain fuse position for each outlet.

edit to clarify this was from a 2011 drivers manual. model years may differ slightly.

My guess on the whole burning up sockets thing is because of voltage drop. Watts = volts x amps so when the voltage decreases over time or a longer length of wire the amperage has to increase to still provide the same amount of power. One would think FL would have tested the electrical system enough to blow a fuse before the socket gets so hot that it melts, but... lol. Seems to me the solution would be for SNI to install a separate fuse and correct gauge wiring straight to the battery with a connector to hook up to your CPAP machine. 12v sockets are fine for light loads but for real loads they are absolute crap.

On another note, the list of drivers that I have met that participate in this section of the forum is I think longer than the list of drivers that I HAVEN'T met.

So far I've met: (sorry if I left anyone out, I'm tired and my brain is firing on about 3 cylinders)

    Met ethos at Gary OC
Met stevep1977 at Seville drop yard and again at TA New Braunfels, TX
    Met mickimause at Gary OC
    Met Drifer42 at Carlisle OC
Met Dougal's Right Foot at Carlisle OC
    Met sadwar at Carlisle OC
Run into rickybobby all the time at Carlisle OC and Charlotte OC
    Met 91H20B8 at Carlisle OC
Met Mickeyrat at Chez Obetz Resort
Met '48Packard at Charlotte OC, as well as another driver who said he just reads but doesn't post
    Met T-Trucker at Carlisle OC
Met Hagermeister and his wife a few days ago at Carlisle OC
ALMOST met moosc, trucks one behind the other on the CB was all we got
    Who else am I forgetting?

So if you're not on that list and you recognize my truck somewhere... come say hi.

Hey, can some of you IC's explain the HVUT. Is this something you pay before signing on with SNI or does SNI pay it for you?

It's a vehicle tax paid in July to the government Schneider pays it out of your escrow account. The pay it to the government on your behalf but it comes from your money.

Unless you tell them not to, SNI will pay it automatically out of your escrow account. $550 I believe. I think just last week I got the "opt out" letter from SNI to send them if I didn't want they to make the payment for me out of my escrow.

Correct you don't have to do anything unless you opt to pay it and not have SNI. Just let SNI pay it out of your escrow.

    dieselfuelonly and damonarnold816 Thank this.

guess GOAL only applies to US drivers. Canada truck with TE and student. TE did not have student get out even ONCE for backing to park.
