I have been running hard the last few days. Almost caught another driver who left with his load out of Ca. A full day before I even unloaded. Only 2 hours behind. I'll cut him a break cause he is elderly man

On May 4, a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Qualifications of Drivers; Diabetes Standard was published to the Federal Register. The NPRM proposes to permit individuals with stable, well-controlled, insulin-treated diabetes mellitus (ITDM), to be qualified to operate trucks and buses in interstate commerce. The driver’s treating clinician would be required to provide documentation annually to a health professional listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners affirming that the driver’s ITDM is stable and well-controlled.

I just saw page 666+ of this thread, catching up now. I had the weird thing happening where hitting "last" did not really bring me to the last page.

I think Schaffer could be a good choice for you George. Good luck!

As others have said, the refer business is varied. With my new company, meat loads have 100% been combo loads so far. Meat trimmings, in the big heavy plastic lined, cardboard vats. Fast and east to unload. Two of my receivers have actually been waiting for me to arrive. One greatened me in a friendly way and offered me a cup of coffee when I got there. (Becks in Reading, PA).

Not all refer business delivery is to big, unfriendly grocery chain warehouses. No one has mentioned the word "swap" to me since I have been here. I keep wanting to give my new dispatch status updates: I am here now, I will go do this now, my refer is running fine, fuel level is full. I can read, write and speak in English, so I was able to determine the correct refer setting. Do you want me to fax you bills? They are friendly but they don't seem to care about any of my updates. Its weird, seems like they think I am a professional driver and they just trust me to be able to drive a loaded truck from here to there and deliver the goods inside...almost eerie.

Loading in Alabama now (Roll Tide) on my way to the Chicago area for early Tuesday delivery.

At a welcome center rest area at the Mississippi-Bama border near Red Bay. Got a decent load out of Haier America in Lugoff SC headed for Lowes DC in Mt Vernon TX. Did half the trip. My stamina is gone from the near two week break plus the short hauls dispatcher B has been giving me and the horribly long waits I have had. 496 miles today, 480 to go. Should hear from Shaffer tomorrow. Recruiter seems to like me (its not a girl, Jungho-just sayin). TMI.

I have been quiet this week because I've actually been cranking out some real miles. Today the pay week ended beautifully with delivering 2 stops and putting me just shy of 3300 miles this week which will put nearly 2 grand in the bank. Props to my DM as she managed to orchestrate a week that flowed so nicely from one well-planned run to the next that it didn't feel like I did that many miles. I felt like I almost spent more time watching TV than working. Two buddies have signed on with Hirschbach. One just got his truck today and the other starts orientation tomorrow. I'm spending the night at Americold in Belvidere, IL. I will roll out before dawn and have a two stop load in GA and NC. This morning was a little hairy as I got into Chicago my DM called and asked how I was looking for OTD and I said great. I'd given myself extra time and shouldn't have an issue. Right after I hung up with her I hit traffic that crawled at 10 mph for a while and ended up being 15 minutes late. T___T Costco didn't have an issue with it and I was assigned a door right away which was still occupied so as soon as it was vacated I backed in to get unloaded. Afterwards I fueled and went to my final stop and got them to take their two pallets 2 hours early and they had it off in ten minutes. I have hometime scheduled for the 13th and am greatly looking forward to it. I miss my kids!

    Hope everyone is doing well.
