if you have been out for 10 yrs it wont matter.. you will have to start out like you have never drove before from what I have read..

Won't really work IMO.....Carrier is going to be able to see right through it plus there will be no DAC or other records checked by carriers like no PSP. You will get busted for BS.
Happen to know any owner operators ? One of them could vouch for you and meet the requirements.
OR
You could apply green to a mega and get retrained.......and don't feel bad bout that. I have close to 30 years all spotless with most in hazmat. I've been out for the last year on the pipeline. If I wanted to come back they would treat me the same way like I suddenly forgot everything.
Good luck,

Most applications only want you to go back 10 years, maybe list your former driving in the cover letter to let them know you have driven before.
KW Cajun Thanks this. -
Wondering if Coke or a septic company would hire me so I could get some time in the drivers seat.
-
septic is a straight truck what value is that ? and second I would dig ditches before I drove a poop truck..
-
It was a thought, some septic companies do have trailers

Give it a shot with some smaller companies in your area but make sure you actually go in and talk face to face with the boss. I was in an identical situation 2 years ago, drove for about 2 years then became a paramedic and worked on the box for just over 5 years. Went in and talked to the boss at the company I drive for now and she didn't care about my time away she cared that she liked me and I had driven before. She counted my 2 years experience and put me on the road without a trainer. You have to talk to the person that makes decisions though. An application or phone call has no face or personality, the guy across the desk does.

Thank you, I will try that

Here's some to try:
Black River Produce
O'Reilly Auto Parts
Earl Henderson Trucking has a good training program for long haul trucking. They provide private one person hotel room and 3 meals a day during school.
