Don't tell them until you have done a stealth quit and at a terminal truck belongs. Clean truck, leave keys and fuel card in truck, take photos of truck inside and out. Go home call in let them know. Giving notice can cause issues, this is usually how I do it.

The idea is to get home and out of their web. Another method go on hometime and finish orientation at new company before you give notice, a bit safer.

Sorry Fairshake but I can't agree with this since its a certain bridge burn . Lepton , I would recommend contacting Doc Watson who took a leave of absence that extended into a resignation or termination but was hired back with no charred bridge problems . As I've gotten older and hopefully wiser I've found its always best to have a go back fall back even if you never intend to use it .

Still at home and waiting for a pplan. Talked to my DM this morning and she got me off the vacation board and was already talking to the planner on getting me a load. That was almost 7 hours ago. Hate dealing with the Jonestown planners. They are worse then Memphis. Call command in the morning. They usually have something getting out of here.

Have to admit this home time really sucked. Had lots to do and got in the car on Tuesday and the brakes where locked up. They released and rotors were hanging up and my mechanic was totally booked for the rest of the week. I do not mess with the brakes on BMW. Heck, I will not even change the battery on this car.

Rest are on I40 three hours east of Memphis, some crackhead planner just sent me a preplan to deadhead 397 miles to Tulsa to deliver in Des Moines. I commented on the mac9 that the planner needs to be drug tested.

A bit north of Memphis at a little truck stop on I-55.
I shut down a bit early to avoid Memphis at 1630 on a weekday. I'm hoping going through tomorrow at 0630 will be better.

I've been running pretty good this past week. I've had plans the day before I deliver, and this load is no exception.
It's a very short load, though. 13 mt and 107 loaded miles. A load of pet food headed to a nearby Walmart DC.
Hopefully taking this short run will get me something more decent through the weekend.

I'll probably end up spending the night at the Lancaster terminal tomorrow night. It will be near 1800 when I'll be finding a parking spot after I pick up the cat food, and all the truck stops in that area get full pretty early. I might try a look see if something is between me and the terminal, but I don't think there is.
Oh well, I need scan sheets...
But they don't have good coffee for the morning. Sigh.

Although, you are paid for those mt miles if you are a company driver.
Miles is miles, and it may get you to a better location for freight.

We are in Houston, TX at the ever popular HEB warehouse, finishing my 34. Yep, we; I'm officially a team driver now. We have an 0800 live load tomorrow that will T-call in Phoenix where I finally get my CPAP inverter installed in the new truck.

I'm leaning more toward keeping bridges intact and doing it right. In this case I've got a trainee in the truck that will need to sign off the truck, so I need to make sure he gets walked through that and is in place to get on with another mentor. Any mentor going through OKC around Monday is in position to get a "runner and gunner" ready to run team. He's preferring to switch to flatbed.

My thinking is to go with my trainee first thing Monday when driver development gets in and make sure he's processed. After that I'll take the cleaned truck to the shop or tractor assignment to have them look through it (and make sure the claim number for the panels that weren't repaired after the deer strike last month are on record with the truck for future use when the truck gets to Phoenix).
