no offense Tim, but if you are signing on with Wal Mart, then it is the future for you. What is worse, the past/current employer or a mistimed letter? I get it and all, but 3 years from now, the past employer will be just that.

i got lucky they just happened to be taking transfers right at my one year. i was in florida working 16 days after my anniversary date. so after your year put in transfer and may get lucky like me. they have 4 dcs down here that have private fleet drivers. so you might have a decent chance that one of them will be.

Talk with your HR. They should be able to o get you better answers on the insurance issue. As car as re hire, your leaving under good terms so you would be eligible for rehire. You just have to start the entire process all over again.

Best wishes and we all will kep your daughter in our prayers.

You can decline that start date and wait until the next class. It is vary possible your current employer played a roll in this by not promptly returning paperwork to walmart to get you approved . Could be several factors def not intentional.
