Isleta Casino just south of Albuquerque on I25. Delivered at he Walmart DC in Los Lunas. I'll never understand why a city will bust their butts to get Walmart to build a DC, then not allow trucks to park anywhere in the city. All parking lots and city streets are off limits to truck parking. Idiots (both Walmart and Los Lunas).

Loves in Greenville, IL .....lucked out and got the big shower. Could of made it a bit further but decided I'll save the St Louis area till early morning. Heck I will be making delivery a day early , what can they really say? Construction season is in full swing on I-70 in Illinois.....fun fun.

We didn't call them Lost Loonies for nothing.

It wouldn't surprise me if the city restricted parking for the benefit of the casino since it's conveniently the closest truck parking lot.

Since you're there you might as well drop a Jackson or two.

Finally made it home. It was sort of a good news/bad news day.

Started off with good news. Cruising East through Memphis at 0500 local time, doing 55 and minding my own business. I'm transitioning from I-55 to I-240, to catch US-78 just past the airport. I ease to the right lane behind a 4-wheeler while rolling through the interchange. Then we pass by a Memphis Police cruiser sitting in the 55NB to 240EB on-ramp. Dummy 4-wheeler slows down suddenly, so now I'm dropping gears down to 45 to regain safe following distance as we pass the police car. He flips on the blue lights and comes out. I wait. And wait. He's not coming around. Must be me. Crap. So I pull over and wait. Blue lights are behind me. I wait some more. Cop waves his flashlight in my driver mirror. I'm thinking no way he's coming up that side. I'm right on the fog line. So I climb out the passenger side and walk back.

He comes up smiling and tells me I can go. He was dealing with the car. ? Wait, whut? I ducked under the trailer and could barely see it behind my DOT bumper. Cop says she was right up on me when we came through, so he came out and lit her up. She musta been close, as I didn't see that car at all the whole time. Sweet! I went on my way feeling much safer in my 40 ton truck, knowing that dangerous tailgater was dealt with LOL.

More good news, the Olive Grove scale was closed. I'm looking better on making my appointment. Then I come up on a sanitary tanker and just before I go left to pass, here it comes. No not that LOL. A golf ball size rock off his drives into my windshield. Bad news, silver dollar size strike but thankfully not shattered. So I call my glass guy a little later and schedule a windshield.

Due to logbook pressure, this trip was tight down to the minute. Bad news, I left a few minutes later than I wanted to. Despite that, and running from the West Memphis Petro to a delivery in Suwanee GA, and all the drama along the way, I pulled up to the gate at exactly my appointment time. More good news, no wait for a door, full truckload all the way out to the doors unloaded and bills in hand in 30 minutes. Heck no I ain't tellin who does that ;). Truth be told, the shipper was just as fast. No surprise since it was the same company. Gonna get more of that if I can manage to get into the north east armpit of Oklahoma more often.

If you were headed south I'd recommend the Crane Cafe at the Roadrunner Travel Plaza at Exit 156 in Lemitar.

Bowling Green at the Averitt yard.
Went to the receiver to see if I could unload early and it was a no go.

So I decided to stay at the yard .
Walked over to Camping World and did some window shopping then on the way back walked over to Ryan's for dinner.

At least I'm getting some exercise... Lol

Well, 'olhand... that's gotta be either Pat's Fisherman Wharf... OR... Crawfish Town USA.
I've never stopped at Crawfish Town, tho I always wanted to, but I have eaten at Pat's several times, years back.

Now there's also a little hide-away spot of mine, called Best Stop about 5 miles west of Lafayette, less than a mile north of I-10 @ the 97mm, on LA93.
It's a small cajun country store that makes the best fresh cracklins 'round the clock, the best boudin I've ever found,
outstanding andouille, tasso, and just about anything 'authentic cajun'.
I've known folks to drive their 4 wheelers halfway across the state just to go there. Not a restaurant... just a country store.

    ‘Olhand Thanks this.
