Tough call. On the one hand, I certainly wouldn't want to hide it, but I also wouldn't want to quit and then be even somewhat unstable while trying to learn a new job with so many things to remember and such awesome responsibility on your shoulders. Unfortunately, you may be able to get your medical card to go to CDL school with a letter from your doctor, but that doesn't mean the company you apply to later will accept the letter from your doctor. Each company may and many times do have more stringent requirements than what DOT mandates. You could get your CDL and find it impossible to get a job. I know the last employer I worked for would never allow it, not under any circumstances.

 

Assuming your talking about Adderall, it's nothing more than prescription cocaine and shows that way on drug tests. They know exactly what amphetamines are for dude. If you truly have ADHD then you don't react to them the way everybody else does.

There are non medication (and natural med) ways to control ADHD, look into them. Saying you needs meds to drive is the same as saying WITHOUT them you may or may not be capable of paying enough attention to safely drive. It's a crappy situation to be in, but you gotta see the other side of it. One little daydream at the wrong time and people can die.

 

I've got buddies who have popped for coke while taking Adderall, they were prescribed and they weren't in driving jobs but when I said earlier that it's prescription coke, it meant it. Ask a Doctor. It even gives people coke jaw!

 

Adderall is not prescription coke, it's prescription amphetamine.

I took Adderall back in the late 70's. Blue pill 15mg. Best drug on the planet. A coke high for at least 8 hours.

I remember being out in a row boat with my buddies fishing. I was rowing so fast they were trolling.

 

I take amphetamine salts for ADHD. I have been driving for over a year, taken 2 drug tests as well as a hair follicle test and I never had an issue. When it shoes up in your system, the drug test agency will call and ask for RX number on your prescription and it will not be given to your employer. I was upfront with my employer and told them, my doctor signed a release saying I needed it to drive and they did not mind at all.

 

Amphetamines are NOT meth.
Methylphenethylamine and methamphetamine are not the same thing.. to clarify.

 

Actuall i read somewhere recently our military still gives pilots flying long distances amph drugs their flights can be 16 hours or more and it was pilots complaining about being drugged they could not sleep after the mission
I do not know if any of this is true but i read it.
