Red I've been shadowing you for 2 days now about 3hrs behind you just couldn't quite seem to catch you lol

loaded in ft Gibson yesterday didn't quite make little rock like I wanted to last night.

got up this morning and rolled right before daylight. when I came through there around 0800 they were working 55/240 hard. had to be a good boy and mind the limit +/- a few they were everywhere.

got down to olive branch and live unload then over to ecru to grab a relay/drop to Atlanta. figure i've got 22 minutes to the good to get there today. pretrip and no right turn signal or flasher on the rear. everything else works. ####. get it over to the shop and he gets right on it. short in the wire to the bulb. on a brand new trailer. hurry hurry out the gate and figure I'm dead even on time to get there. of course I get EVERY red light on 78 the last 10 into Birmingham. never fails. by the time I get out on 20 rough figuring in my head says +8 and behind now. luckily no holdups getting out of b'ham and no backups on the way

when I rolled up to the gate at the heartless yard on hollowell the clock clicked over 0:00. I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy a new gps for no other reason than to have an accurate trip clock. as tight as I run it sooner rather than later the clock in my head is going to come up short with the clock on the box lol

no plan for tomorrow and nobody in planning till 0800 that has the authority to make a decision so guess I sleep in tomorrow morning.

Well I'm following @Rocks to Connecticut just a few hours behind. I'm at the Harrisonburg VA truckstop on I81 one of the few places I know I can usually find parking rolling in after dark. Rocks will get a good head start on me but I will probably catch her as I will be passing that Pilot at about noon and she will probably just be getting out of there. ​

 

not the worst restaurant in NE seems every cattle truck in the state goes there

Was getting kinda panicky this morning: Every load that was worth a dang heading westerly outa Denver was gone when I called back.

Asked one guy If he had any others planned Denver to SLC. He called back a couple hours later. So grabbing the relay Denver to SLC Fri Eve. D&H
Cool can get a pm done on the truck and I think the Voltage Regulator fried today can get replaced Thurs/Fri early.

Reload Sat about 2 blocks from the Friday night drop. That one rolls to Portland Or, For a Monday Morning drop.

And to think: I was starting to think about dead heading home

 

He took to long to get here. They shut down so we didn't get to try it out. Oh well, if everything works out tomorrow I'll make up for it by dining at Sam Bass on my way back outta Co.

One place I've been meaning to get to, but never have yet, is off I-80 at the 81mm in Utica, IL. (by Starved Rock State Park)
It's called Ron's Cajun Connection. Heard a lot of good about it.
Friend of mine said they have chicken & sausage gumbo, but didn't have seafood gumbo, tho.

Years back, I went to a big cajun restaurant in Wheeling (forget the name). Horrible excuse for cajun food, like most up north.
Last time I looked, they went out of business (well deserved).
Maple Tree Inn, in Blue Island, is pricy (about 2x or more compared to LA), which has kept me away, but ppl say it's good.

 

When it rains, it pours. After cooling my heels in Iowa for a 3 day weekend, I came out of there running Tall Mike style. You wouldn't have caught up LOL.
