Great old family company~~~~But if you dont live within an hour or so of yard~~~wont work everything they do is out&back from yard.........system isnt really set up for drivers from out of area....so if u r from Tarheel~~~wouldnt b very good fit
carolinacowboy72 Thanks this. -
Their not far from me but i dont know anything about them except they have nice trucks.
-
If your looking for company that has nice trucks check out carolina tank lines right in nc.
-
Ok thanks. I know they have a facility in WI so I thought maybe they were stretching out a little. I'll probably call them and see.
I've talked to Carolina Tank Lines couple years ago. Didn't seem like a good fit for me at the time and they usually have a waiting list -
They bought the old Jefferson Transport couple years ago when JTS owner died~~&did expand some~~not sure how many drivers r outta Wi but they all also live nearby im told~~~the core of their business is LTL originating from a very old customer base in the NE~~Spreading out all over the country from there~~~But where ever the truck finishes it is loaded right back to Pa,,,,
Not saying not to call,,,,,,, But 2 very good aquantances of mine have been there over 20 years each~~&have nothin but good to say about them,,,,,
one of them told me today after thevJTS buyout&expansion they did hire a couple of drivers from out of area~~but it was too big a hassle according to their ops mgr~~2 stop runs to let them get time at home~~so they stopped doing it about as soon as they started&Especially because the owner demands every
truck be left at the yard between runs so they can be serviced^~~~He is very very serious bout maintance~~EVERY TRUCK goes thru the shop after every run........both my pals are home every 6~7 days....&they tell me their rides get a looking over every time,, -
Yep You're right. I called them and they said trucks have to be parked on the yard so that counts me out

Nice looking trucks yes but on their last leg. 75% of fleet has over million miles. Then if you what to rest Carolina is the WRONG place. Basically, you drive all night northeast. Deliver about 6 am, then go on your break while you drive 100 miles or so to load. Once your loaded about 6 hours of your break is over then you try to sleep for about 2 or 3 hours. Then drive 500 miles that night. Then do it all over again the next night. Yes, they have computer logs but this thing called a SKIP button on the peoplenet. Oh and the dispatchers are completely heartless and treat you like cattle. Also trucks are set at 65 until you've been there forever then you can run 68 in cruise. Oh boy great company!
-
Everything you said if BS Trapthoughts. We don't have computer logs.
-
There is nothing wrong with a million mile truck as long as it's kept clean and maintained and serviced properly. If those trucks are gone over in the shop after every trip, then I'll bet they're in better shape than a lot of the almost new trucks out on the road these days.
