Any IC's use the Dailly Market forcast? Im looking at it and trying to understand the system. When they refer to "under sold" or "over sold", do they mean "over sold" = they booked more loads than they have drivers? "under sold" = more drivers than loads? in a particular area? And what are the numbers in each box? Do they represent the numbers of IC drivers projected to be that area on that particular day? Thanks in advance.

They said they were going to provide forecasts more than 1 day out in the future. Not sure if or when that might happen but I never really even look at that forecast as it's useless when only looking 1 day in the future when booking loads. The best way to check on rates and markets by just messing around on the load board and looking up all different sorts of date ranges and areas to get an idea where the good and bad areas are.

In regards to the forecast though "oversold" and "very oversold" means more freight has been booked in that market than there are drivers available. Balanced is self explanatory while undersold means less available freight. I have no idea what the numbers mean

it doesn't do much for me in my planning BUT in an oversold market there will be a little better rates.
But you know I've seen Colorado oversold but still saw all $1 a mile freight coming out of there lol.

What it does mean though that if you need to have a load pulled from you for whatever reason, if it's an oversold market they might leave the load on you and hope for the best. Has happened to me before.

Following the freight trends can help some..but really you're at the mercy of the loadboard.
Unless you are looking forward to heading into a area you don't normally run.
We are entering the strong freight season so it should wide open for a bit.
