Yes they have. I have seen scales open that I haven't seen open in a very long time.

Going to Canada ? Specifically Quebec ? Stay OUT of the public rest areas that are on twin hiways. Go to the truck stops instead. Stay off the get-off ramps as well. The PQ DOT won't go on private property BUT they will harass yer ### on public property 24/7. Imagine being in your bunk at 0200 and getting a knock ! They're out there waiting to measure your car hauler for over all length !! At 0200 !!!! Really ?? And they want us to get sleep ???

I know LOTS of GREAT people from Quebec. Drivers and ex-Military alike. BUT because of the Quebec DOT, I have NOT stopped in that province for anything, except emergency fuel, in over 25 years !!!!

I will stop before and after ( ON, NB, or New England ) but not in.

Sorry good people of Quebec ....... your DOT is a tax dollar deterrent !!!!

not only was i 800 lbs. over on my trailer tandem,i was also eclipsing or over the bridge law thingy in Ga. today by at least a couple thousand YET the scale master, the only individual that seemed to be there this afternoon, allowed me to keep rolling. i threw my hand up to him in the second story window as thank you. he knew that i knew that he allowed me to keep trucking.

absolute scale house omitted intentionally. I was absolutely stunned to be quite honest but i rolled the dice so to speak.we all do at times even you straight up elogging/castrated/qualcomed out/camera in your face drivers and we all get lucky from time to time.

lest ye forget or can't ascertain from my avatar,i pull an end dump and that should sum it up for those that know of that which i type. 75% of you couldn't handle the scrutiny and/or pressure yet you espouse to be by the book.

    right.

let's go speed through a truck stop and snag all 10 while doing so,shall we?

Illinois DOT had a truck in the truck enforcement pull off on 90 today. It was a fl60 pulling a 2 car enclosed, "not for hire' signs on it. There was a wrecker getting ready to hook to it.

I'm guessing he got popped without a CDL. Driver looked pissed.

What i've done, over the years, drive late night... less traffic, means less patrolling required. Many scales are closed, late night. of course we have tha perpetuals, which i will occasionally go around, or stop and make sure i'm caught up on logs, lights, etc.....when i start getting close to populated areas, my awareness increases.....i've noticed they don't like to venture far from civilization, nevertheless, seen tha occasional zealot out in the middle of nowhere.......sometimes drivers will help on cb, only in certain parts of country, cb help has gotten rare....the reason i avoid scales, rollin is money, i do pre/post trip to cover safety, break downs, no body pays us for waiting in lottery line for dot quotas....for my self, awareness of truck condition & surroundings helps keep tha sharks at bay

Illinois DOT were working hard today, had about 5 trucks pulled over on 294 for 3rd lane violation. Had 2 more pulled into the eastbound inspection pulloff on 90, 3 dot cops in there.

here at the company i work for, they send a blast with only drivers who receive a clean inspection. well today, around 12pm... a blast was sent at John doe (fake name obviously) received a clean roadside inspection in illinois, a $350 bonus will be added onto his check.

so i called safety just inquiring where he was dot'ed... safety told me this guy got a random inspection in CHINA TOWN right off I94 heading to a railyard at 5:30am! Lol! I didnt believe him so when i got into the office to see the report... the darn guy was right.. 5:30 am random inspection.. well atleast the driver was doing his job. these bears in illinois have been hitting hard lately..

Illinois was hitting it hard on I-55 south of Bloomington all the way to Missouri state line. Unmarked white impalas had trucks pulled all over the place.

I use the android app trucker path. Drivers can report if coops are open or closed.

My only inspection ever was a roadside driver inspection on 52 by Decorah. My annual OS permit was expired, so I got a warning, as the office had a new annual permit emailed to my phone before he was done with the inspection.
