Hi everybody, I'm thinking of getting a bicycle in my truck, but not sure where to keep it when not in use. Cab would technically fit it, but there's enough stuff there already. I have a rig guard, so what if I attach a bike to it, like city buses do? Would DOT give me hard time seeing this? Thanks for replying.
Bicycle on rig guard?

As long as the bike is secured with a strap and not a bungie you shouldn't have any problems.
KAMA3 Thanks this. -
This is what I thought but being OTR for 1 year never seen anyone carrying a bike like this, so I'm wondering why..
-
Typically I see them strapped to the rear of the cab. But I have seen at least two on the front.

Ran into a prime driver on his way to sturgis about a dozen years ago with his Harley on his catwalk , chained. Best solution is a fold up bike or the catwalk
-
Citizen fold up , around 300 dollars

Brompton. A nice folding bicycle. Pay more and get something that can be fixed and will last. You could probably keep it in the cab if you made it a priority.

I carried mine on the catwalk, deck plate. I have had 0 problems with the DOT. I did this while at Swift too. Others there got written up for it. That never happened to me. I don't think anybody had the courage to confront me with it.
I have seen exactly what you describe several times. I have never heard of any issues with what you describe. Of course few mega-crap companies have cattle guards. The mega-crap safety desk jockey might be the only one that would come up with an issue with it. -
$50 throw away Walmart bike I would strap outside but never my bike. Inside, momma, inside.

I don't even keep my load locks outside the truck!
Mikeeeeicsheeple Thanks this.
